Subject:MARE FOR SALE OR FREE LEASE
Posted by:regentlion.
Time:10:31 pm.
X posted *wildly*

I have a Trakehner/TB mare for sale or POSSIBLE lease/free lease.

Her name is "Java", she's about 15.3, bay, 6 or 7 years old (have to dig out my papers).  Got her a few years ago with EVERY intention of breaking her, training her, etc etc etc but really haven't had time or opportunity.  She is broke, trail rides, w/t/c and is fine on the ground with everything but mane pulling (hates it).

A sweet, yet slightly sensitive girl, she's very smart and needs consistency we can't give her.

She'd make a GREAT H/J horse or maybe event horse.  She is not registered at this time and I am not sure if she can be.

She's green green green green green (cannot stress that enough), and basically turns, stops, walks, trots, and canters under saddle-- still learning her leads.  Java has been ridden probably 10-20 times AT MAX, and never consistently.  Soft mouthed, no vices.

Java has been free jumped (once) and went up to 3' 3" with no problem.  Tight knees, great form.

She's "older" yes, but that means she's more physically and mentally mature and READY TO WORK!

Asking 5k, but VERY motivated to sell/move her and so will consider ANY reasonable offer.

MOre info and photos at www.heritageoaksfarm.com on the "sales" page.

Hey guys and gals!
I'm going for my C1 in a couple weeks, and I am really nervous about it. I am not too sure why I am, because I think I can pass it pretty easily... So, really I am just looking for some confidence and advice on some things to do.

What was your C1 like?
How easy was it?
If you're in the South Region, who did you get for an examiner, and how were they?

Thanks... =)

How do you get a parent over a rating?
I tested for my C3 a few weeks ago, they said they didnt think i made a good decision in bringing my horse, but it was political and stupid. I didnt pass, i dnms on all the riding portions, except grids-their only reasoning -that we heard of- being my horse. I tested in my region, CNE, and I dont know why I expected anything different-with the people we have in power everything is going to be as political as it can be.
I'm totally over it, I'm leasing a horse soon(hopefully), and I plan on testing again in the spring in another region. However my parents, my mom in particular, wont let it go. Previous to this rating she was pretty much the biggest supporter of Pony Club-didnt agree with her not being allowed to graze my horse-but other than that, no complaints. Now when ever we have a club meeting (which most all of them are at my house, because my dad is our DC) she actually leaves home. She says she has to go work or needs to go buy something at the mall. (My mom HATES shopping, by the way, so i know its bullshit.)
I love Pony Club, I think its great, its awesome, everyone I look up to as a horse person was a pony Club graduate, I love the kids in my club, I love doing things with my club, I love rallying, I love the kids in my region, I love going to championships and meeting kids in other regions-whom I grow to love too! I just cant stand that my mom is so against it from one testing. So some people on the CNE board got their hands in too deep this time, I really dont think thats fair reasoning to hate an international organization. And I wish I knew of some way to get my mom over this rating, get her to understand that life goes on. She cant get over it, she HATES pony club like its her job now, and it really bothers me.
Help!!

Hey everyone!

Has anyone taken the H/HA test? I'm taking it in about a month and I would welcome any advice. Some particular things I'm a little unclear about are what exactly I am expected to bring (aka what if the wraps I have don't fit the horse I'm assigned? etc...) and how the general flow of the test goes (I've never had a chance to go see one).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group, but I was thinking maybe you guys could help me out.

I am a member of the Woodside Pony Club (midcal region) and am currently a D3. I have a 15 hh QH mare who I've had for about a year. When I first got her, she was a western trail horse, and I've basically trained her and taken all of my ratings so far on her. We're going to try to take my C1 in May.

I dont really love jumping, and I love dressage, and I know that I'm definately going to take my C3-A (if I get that far) in the dressage track. This weekend, I moved my horse from a backyard barn to a real dressage barn and will be in training with Pamela Miller and Carrie Coe. I was origonally planning on taking Lady (my QH) through my C2, then getting a new horse who is more advanced and fits me better (I'm 5'7" or 5'8" so I'm outgrowing my little pony) that just does dressage to take my upper ratings, because my trainer wouldnt let me jump my next fancier horse.

Today my trainer told me that there is a little girl interested in buying my horse. She rode her today and really liked her. She would want to buy her sometime in the next 6 months, and I would love to see Lady go to a great home with this girl. The thing is, if I sold her before I got my C2, I would never be able to take upper ratings in pony club because my replacement horse would be solely a dressage horse, and unable to jump for my C2. However, I probably wont be ready for C2 for at least another year to year and a half, and wont be able to advance my dressage skills on my current horse.

So I'm trying to decide if I want to be a C1 in pony club forever, drop out altogether and focus just on dressage, or wait to sell Lady until after my C2.

Anyone have any advice?

Hey guys, I've got another question. I am definitely taking my B next summer, but has anyone here ever taken the H and the B in thesame summer? I would LOVE to do that and get them both out of the way since I don't really plan to go for the A, and then I'd be done ratings forever! I'm working on a lot of my bookwork now since I just started college and I won't get to ride much until winter break. I pretty much have every resource available to me. Here at school at my barn I have a B pony clubber, a RIC, and a DC and they all take lessons with Cherie Gaebel (a national examiner). At my barn at home I have a vet who owns the barn, a graduate H, my trainer who's a graduate A, and 2 D3s, and a C2 that I can teach. I'm just worried that it may be more work than is reasonably possible between now and...july/august. I don't know if anybody has an opinion on this but let me know if you do! Thanks!

Has anyone here ever been involved in the National Youth Congress? I am applying for 2006 but there's really not a ton of information about what they actually do. I just know that i got nominated and people in my region said I'd be a good candidate.

HEY! I've got a horse for sale here in Lincoln Nebraska ok so if you're looking or know someone who is looking this is the sport horse for you!
15 yr old Irish Warmblood gelding
16 hands
2nd Level Dressage
can jump at LEAST 3'6 and can go higher
chestnut with flaxen mane and tail
$6000 (neg)
he's quite a looker and he is really an exception mount. He needs some tuning up but then what horse doesn't. The only thing is that he gets a lot of pent up energy if not ridden on a regualr basis and likes to spend that pent up energy by bucking. But, that problem is completely negated if he gets regular exercise.
post to this if you're interested or send it along if you know someone else who might be interested. It would me bundles to me if you'd pass this on!
THANKS!

dover saddlery is the most horrid company i have ever delt with.

we sent my boots to them two months ago when the zipper broke. prior to returning them we called them and they assured us that once they received the boots, a new pair would be sent. so we sent the boots off, along with a letter explaining what had happened. after about three weeks we still hadn't gotten the boots, we called them-excuse, called them again-another excuse, and again and again. my mom started emailing them and got more excuses. meanwhile, i am having to use my show boots (which is really irritating me). then yesterday my mother receives a package from dover-and wouldn't you know it, the SAME DAMN PAIR OF BOOTS THAT WE SENT IN TWO MONTHS AGO! with a letter saying we had mistakinely sent these boots back, but the funny thing was, the letter i sent them was gone.

this really ticked my mom off, and she immediately sent dover yet another email. and with no immediate response, she tracked down the boot supplier (mountain horse) and told them what was going on. and just a little while later she got and email from dover stateing how sorry they were and that they had shipped a brand new pair of boots.

next on my list is to get on dover about the paddock boots i ordered a month ago, that still haven't come in.

My C-2 rating is on Sunday. I'm not too worried about it, dont see any sense in getting all worked up about these things.
But I do have a question.
So for the C-2 you have to present the examiner with a writen Conditioning and Feeding schedual for a specific event for 6-8 weeks.
How might one go about doing that.

I ride my horse 6 days a week, every week, all year round.
My horse ONLY gets a handful of grain--he doesnt need any so he just gets enough to feel loved.
I dont exactly understand what Im suppose to do for the schedual.
